Medical Nutrition & Weight Loss Therapy Programs

Medical Nutrition Therapy | Weight Loss That Works< | Weight Loss & Nutrition Programs | Diagnostic Services

We use diet and nutrition to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.  Your diet impacts virtually all of your body's organs and systems.  Get a nutrition program that can help lower your blood pressure or cholesterol levels.  Learn how to control your blood sugar levels using your diet.  Treat and potentially reverse heart disease.  Relieve symptoms of GERD and IBS.  Develop a diet to counteract food allergies.  We have many other programs in addition.  Call us at 1.732.283.1900 to see if we have a nutrition program for your medical conditions.

Our weight loss program is designed to answer 3 key questions:

  • What should I eat?

  • How much should I eat?

  • How often should I eat?

Our program is fun, easy to follow, and gets results.  We believe in permanent lifestyle change.  We do not promote diets that you can follow for a couple of months before quitting (read our article on yo-yo diets).  We understand that there are setbacks and stumbles on the road to success. We will be with you through thick and thin (yes, we think that having a sense of humor is essential!).

We help you lose weight in a safe and healthy manner.  In our weight loss and nutrition program, we:

  • Establish your weight loss goals and objectives in terms of health, energy levels, self-esteem, and appearance.

  • Take your current weight, height, and key body measurements.

  • Determine the number of calories you really need each day.

  • Measure your body composition.

  • Provide you a written plan of care that lays out your goals and objectives, the number of calories you need each day, how much fat, muscle, bones and fluid you have, all of the action items you need to accomplish to reach your goals, and the commitment needed to achieve success.

  • Develop a personalized eating plan that tells you what you should eat, how much you should eat, and how often you should eat.

  • Give you the nutritional and dietary steps you need to take to treat any existing medical conditions.

  • Develop specific meal plans to address the difficult meal times in your life.

  • Advise you on what vitamins, minerals, and supplements can help you lose weight and treat your medical conditions and which ones to avoid that are a waste of money or can do you harm.

  • Monitor your progress, adjust your program as necessary, and provide you non-judgmental motivational support.

  • Provide non-judgmental counseling to help you address non-productive habits and behaviors that are getting in the way of achieving your goals.

Our diagnostics help us create an optimal weight loss program for you, measure your progress, evaluate your state of health, and tell you how you compare to the general population.

Please Contact us to find out which of these diagnostic tests might benefit you.

  • Determine the number of calories you need each day and how your energy level compares to what it should be.

  • Measure your body composition including your percent body fat, muscle mass, and fluids.

  • Calculate your energy balance by comparing the calories you burn in a day against those that you take in through food and drink.

  • Assess your body's ability to burn fat and carbohydrates for energy.

  • Assess the levels of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients in your diet and highlight any areas of deficiency or excess.

  • Assess the caloric density of your diet.  Some research indicates that an individual tends to eat a constant quantity of food each day.  Weight loss may be possible by reducing the caloric density of foods in your diet.
